Kokeshi Mini Card

Kokeshi Mini Card

Kokeshi are Japanese dolls originally from northern Japan. Handmade out of wood with a simple trunk and enlarged head. These dolls are thought to date back to the early 19th century when woodworkers (kijiya), who were known to be making wooden trays and bowls, then began using their woodwork skills and lathes to make simple dolls to sell as toys and souvenirs.

On the back of the card: "It is popular to collect Japanese Kojeshi dolls, as they are considered as lucky charms"

Printed on the risograph using soy based inks, on quality FSC certified paper from GF Smith Papers, Munken stock.

Comes with a pale grey envelope.
